QUALITATIVE METHODOLOGY. ARTFUL INQUIRY. PEDAGOGY.
I am an Assistant Professor of Qualitative Research in the Department of Educational Studies in Psychology, Research Methods, and Counseling at The University of Alabama. Since 2015, I have also served as Co-Coordinator of the Qualitative Research Certificate Program. This program serves students from across the university by immersing them in a program of study intended to deepen their knowledge and practice of qualitative inquiry.
A graduate of The University of Georgia, I completed my doctoral degree in May 2014 with a focus in Art/Art Education while also earning an Interdisciplinary Qualitative Research Certificate. Prior to this time, I worked in Georgia's Gwinnett County Public Schools as a high school visual arts educator. My experiences in the arts have uniquely informed and inspired my research and teaching practices, drawing me toward topics such as STEAM
